This film is based on the best selling auto biography of sonny carson. this film was created on a miniscule $1million budget. which in hollywood is very low budget and even for 1974 it was low. and due to this low budget the director was forced to use new and creative styles of directing. using kids from the neighborhood and simple “dark” rooms to imply interrogation rooms and jail cells and such. for hip hop fans and movie buffs alike this is one you should put on your “must watch” list as it is a movie you will not forget.
